Achievements through science: young scientist Zafarjon Makhmudjonov
In connection with the 35th anniversary of the state independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan, we are highlighting for the general public the scientific activities, research, and achievements of our institute's scientists who are making a worthy contribution to the development of New Uzbekistan and achieving significant results in the advancement of science.
Today, we will talk about the scientific activities and achievements of one such scientist — Zafarjon Maxmudjonov, Associate Professor of the Biology department at the Gulistan State Pedagogical Institute and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biological Sciences.
The scientist's research is focused on the study of the taxonomy, biodiversity, and molecular phylogenetics of terrestrial mollusks. As a result of his research, nearly 40 scientific articles and abstracts have been published in prestigious national and international scientific journals.
Currently, Zafarjon Maxmudjonov serves as a reviewer for the international scientific journal Animal and Veterinary Sciences (AVS).
He was also a winner of the “Academic Mobility” program in 2026 and was recognized as a laureate of the “100 Ideas for Uzbekistan” competition.
